techniques, and AutoCAD. Students will learn technical drawing
techniques to plan and prepare scaled representations of drawings in
areas such as fashion, engineering, and architecture. Students will
gain knowledge of drawing standards, lettering, geometric
construction, graphic symbols, multiview projection, isometrics,
dimensioning, design processes, and specification interpretation.
Students in this course will also experience project-based learning.

Musical instruments make a highly engaging focus for project-based
learning in Career and Technology Studies, Music or academic classes.
Students in this course will experience project-based learning while
researching, designing and constructing an instrument. This is a
valuable learning opportunity for pre-service and active teachers.

EDCT 400 - Revit Arch & AutoCAD Inventor
August 3 to August 13 MTWRF

Students will be introduced to Revit Architecture and AutoCAD Inventor
2010 software. Revit and Inventor software will illustrate the basics
of Architecture and Mechanical drawings. Students will develop
fundamental CADD skills as they complete a set of residential drawings
and produce real-life mechanical projects that can be easily used to
make a prototype. Dimensioning techniques, page layout, schedules,
prototyping and basic rendering techniques will be an integral part of
the course. AutoCAD Impression may be introduced time permitting.
Pre-service and active Alberta teachers involved with Career and
Technology Studies design courses will acquire skills and knowledge,
which will prepare them to apply these concepts in their secondary
education classrooms.
